Elopement at Chesterman Beach, Tofino BC: Ashley & Kyle

More than a year ago, Ashley contacted me to photograph her wedding in Abbotsford, BC. Shortly after, she opted for a small elopement beach wedding in Tofino, BC. I mentioned having family near Tofino and expressed my interest in capturing their wedding while turning it into a mini family vacation!

From the start, I had several conversations with Ashley over Facebook messenger. I had a positive impression of her as she was very friendly and open, even though we hadn't met in person yet. Meeting Ashley and her fiancé Kyle, who resided in Calgary, was a bit challenging. However, Ashley informed me during Christmas that they would be visiting Abbotsford, BC. I was thrilled to finally meet them and take their engagement photos at the same time.

The day before Ashley and Kyle's wedding, my husband and I met them in Tofino, BC. We spent an hour exploring the area and the beach where the beach ceremony would take place! The beauty of Tofino was enchanting, and I felt fortunate to be their wedding photographer.

On Saturday, May 5th, the wedding day, I met Ashley at the rental house in Tofino, located right across from Chesterman Beach where the ceremony was to be held. I captured some getting ready shots of Ashley and met her sister, whom I discovered I knew through another friend. It's a small world! Shortly after, we proceeded with the beach ceremony under the sunny, bright, and windy conditions by the water, making for an incredible afternoon. I truly enjoyed witnessing and documenting Ashley & Kyle's special day with their close family in attendance.
